continuing our journey to the museum & other historical places!

Museum here we go!

Whenever someone mention museum, what's the first thing on your mind? BORED?! Oh well that's what people usually think about museum. Now, Let's have a look at the museums in Malacca! We went to the Literature Museum, Democracy Government Museum and last but not least the Muzium yang DIpertuan Negeri.

Let's start off with the LITERATURE MUSEUM. It is a green building with ancient malay designs. It actually looks like some kind of Rumah Melayu.
Tadaaaaa! Sneak peak on the outlook of the building!

The literature Museum

According to the information that I've found, the objective of The Literature Museum is
to keep and preserve literary works from the earliest times to the present for posterity, promote the development of literature, and honour Malay writers and poets of note by featuring them in museum displays and exhibitions.

The Literature Museum is located at a building near the Stadthuys. The Literature museum pays particular attention on the Malays history of writing and their literature, right from the Melaka Sultanate period till the present. It exhibits important historical records of Melaka, such as the ‘Malay Annals’, ‘Hikayat Hang Tuah’, ‘Hukum Kanun Melaka’ .In the museum, I get to see the
Traditional literary genres such as ‘pantun’, ‘gurindam’, ‘nazam’, and puisi (poetry).

This is just so cool! Antique cameras and video cameras. Seeing the gadgets nowadays! Such a big development and transformation!
Kulit wayang. It is one of the art culture that I find really impressive! I wish that I would have a chance to watch a Kulit wayang show!

Hang Tuah! It looks kind of creepy to me. There are a lot of dolls and statues of the famous people in the Museum.

The awesome paintings outside the museum. They are the paintings of the Poets such as Abdul Ahmad Said.

To sum up this visit to the museum, even though youngsters nowadays would feel that visiting the museum is really boring and wasting time. I do gain some knowledge from these historical places. It is really important that we know the history of our own country and like the literature museum. I get to see all the poems and literature produced by all the amazing people. Before this, the only poet that I know is Abdul Ahmad Said at least now I knew  few more of them! *p/s The air conditioner in  the museum is really cooling! It is such a nice place to go under this hot weather in Malacca! haha
